Position Title: Building Automation Technician III

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend the design and operational intent of mechanical systems and equipment, including chillers, boilers, custom air handling units, primary/secondary pumping systems, variable flow chilled water plants, clean room applications, demand response, and energy solutions.
  • Evaluate systems and formulate a scope of work for the implementation of control systems.
  • Monitor, identify, and troubleshoot potential issues utilizing computer workstations and on-site assessments.
  • Collaborate with installation and maintenance teams to carry out installations, repairs, or modifications of controlled systems and equipment.
  • Deliver technical presentations on building automation, control systems, and emerging technologies.
  • Diagnose defective or non-functional components in both new and existing systems using testing equipment and programming expertise.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of direct experience in automation with control systems and programming is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of at least three HVAC control systems (preferably Delta, JCI, or Andover).
  • Ability to engage with clients at supervisory and management levels.
  • Engineering competencies should include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills and an understanding of control networking are necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
