Job Summary

Materion is seeking a highly skilled Production Control Manager to drive the execution of the short-term Supply Plan/Sales for a specific asset grouping/grouping of production areas. This role requires strong collaboration with production supervisors to ensure efficient flow of material and escalation/resolution of any road blocks or missed expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive output of large asset grouping to meet forecast expectations through efficient flow of material and stewardship of the master production schedule.
  • Own and be considered the subject matter expert on Lean Flow production in-process line-balancing kanbans in Asset Grouping which govern production asset loading levels.
  • Alter in-process kanban designs for mix changes/builds for major outages and work with Planning on needed Supermarket safety stock sizing.
  • Identify and report leading and lagging indicators to demonstrate daily/weekly progress to execution plan, keeping within manufacturing spend and inventory targets.
  • Communicate impact of any fall-behind and catch-up plans and have a wider view of all other Asset Groups that affect own execution to drive best scenario outcome with other PC Managers.
  • Identify, resolve or escalate between-work cell flow challenges and quantify impact, escalating to Operations Managers and Site Managers as needed.
  • Manage MRP Planner/Schedulers under Asset Grouping to rectify work cell system data such as work center capacity, outages, production order scheduling, and production order late risk.
  • Escalate impact concerns and true view of the production floor (production plan adherence) to Operations and Supply Chain management.
Requirements
  • Education: College educated or commiserate experience in production environments.
  • Experience: Experience as production coordinator or higher AND scheduling background.
  • Understanding of end-to-end planning and supply chain management.
  • Experience in using and improving systems (SAP ERP and Oracle preferred).
  • Proven people and line management experience.
  • Knowledge of processes in sales, marketing operations, finance and manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve KPIs like plan accuracy improvement, process adherence, stock turns, return on investment and project completion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with reporting tools such as PowerBI.
  • Experience creating leading indicators/tools to predict production plan adherence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders team to evaluate multiple options and transparently communicate options, making recommendations where appropriate.
  • Quickly identify deviations from expected results and other disruptions and can promptly lead their teams to resolve any issues, fostering a high performance and engaged culture.
