Position Overview:

The Client Benefits Coordinator is an integral part of our mission at Evergreen Treatment Services, dedicated to supporting individuals in accessing and maintaining public benefits. This role primarily serves as a knowledgeable resource for staff, assisting them in guiding clients through the complexities of benefits systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the enrollment and retention of clients in various public assistance programs.
• Act as an educator and problem solver for direct service staff, ensuring they have the necessary tools to assist clients effectively.
• Provide direct support to clients facing challenges in accessing entitlements, both in the field and at various locations.
• Collaborate with community organizations to enhance training and support for service providers, focusing on systemic improvements.
• Identify barriers within the benefits system and advocate for changes that enhance access for marginalized populations.

Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional education is preferred.
• Minimum of four years of experience in outreach and case management, particularly with individuals experiencing homelessness and substance use issues.
• Strong understanding of addiction and harm reduction practices.
• Knowledge of state and federal benefits, including but not limited to ABD, HEN, EBT, and SSI.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse communities.
