About The Role

The Line LLC is seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to lead our culinary program and drive the success of our fine dining establishment. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for crafting innovative menus, leading a talented team of chefs, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Crafting seasonal menus that showcase local and global ingredients, while staying true to our culinary identity.
  • Developing signature dishes that become synonymous with our restaurant's reputation.
  • Conducting regular menu tastings with the team to refine recipes and ensure consistency.
  • Researching and incorporating new flavor profiles, cooking techniques, and global influences while maintaining our core identity.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu costing, inventory management, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
  • Implementing and enforcing strict quality control measures to ensure every dish meets the highest standards.
  • Collaborating with the purchasing team to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices, prioritizing local and sustainable options.
  • Overseeing kitchen equipment maintenance and ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
  • Delegating tasks effectively, empowering chefs to take ownership and contribute their talents.
  • Scheduling and leading pre-service briefings to ensure clear communication and seamless kitchen operations.
  • Providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development for your culinary team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and mutual respect.
  • Analyzing sales data and menu performance to identify areas for cost-optimization and menu adjustments.
  • Developing strategies to minimize food waste and maximize efficiency in kitchen operations.
  • Working collaboratively with the restaurant manager on pricing strategies and menu profitability.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with purveyors and distributors to source the freshest, most sustainable ingredients available.
  • Developing and maintaining cost-effective menus while maximizing profitability.
  • Scheduling of all BOH management team.
  • Reviewing monthly inventory to ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Responsible for maintaining labor cost in line with budget expectations.
  • Aiding in the recruitment and training of all BOH managers and hourly staff.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, luxury restaurant or fine dining establishment.
  • Exceptional culinary skills and a deep understanding of fine dining techniques and plating presentation.
  • A strong commitment to using seasonal, sustainable, and high-quality ingredients.
  • Impeccable leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop a talented culinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with staff, vendors, and guests.
  • A passion for creating exceptional dining experiences that exceed guest expectations.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Food Handler's Certificate for Washington DC, or equivalent if based in a different city/state.
