Job Summary:
Fairview Health Services is seeking a skilled Patient Registration Specialist to join our team at the Eagan Clinic. As a Patient Registration Specialist, you will be responsible for greeting and welcoming patients, verifying and registering patients with accuracy and efficiency, and maintaining patient accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Registration and Verification: Registers and verifies insurance and demographic information with patients according to established guidelines.
- Insurance Verification: Verifies patient insurance coverage, eligibility, contract group number, effective dates, and coverage, correct insurance, and billing address.
- Financial Arrangements: Informs patients of insurance coverage co-pays or self-pay policy and documents in patient account for front desk staff.
- Balance Monitoring: Monitors patient balances on patient accounts and informs patients of outstanding balances to ensure appropriate financial arrangements.
- Customer Service: Researches and facilitates patients' questions and concerns according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Knowledge and Compliance: Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Improvement and Adaptability: Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements and adapts to change.
- Scheduling: Schedules appointments for patients with specified clinicians according to scheduling guidelines, patient needs, and availability of clinicians.
Requirements:
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Preferred Qualifications: Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent experience and education, excellent customer service skills, and prior clinical experience.
