Position Overview:
Chipton-Ross is seeking 10 (ten) skilled Electro-Mechanical Technicians for a contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Proficient in electro-optic cable terminations and jointing, along with sub-surface communications cable management and electronic assembly.
2. Tasks may involve fiber optic splicing, potting of mechanical and electronic components, and conducting Hi-Pot and hydrostatic-pressure testing.
3. Execute soldering of electronic components onto circuit boards and other electrical assemblies.
4. Perform precise adjustments using hand tools, precision measuring devices, and specialized equipment, including vacuum equipment, digital indicators, optical microscopes, height gauges, Vernier gauges, micrometers, and electronic testing fixtures.
5. Provide expert support in the assembly of potting, electro-mechanical, and fiber optic assemblies.
6. Handle, inspect, clean, and prepare delicate optical components and assemblies.
7. Understand and utilize a wide range of electrical/electronic and mechanical parts such as fiber optics, solder, wire, resistors, diodes, capacitors, relays, transformers, coils, switches, PC boards, and epoxies.
8. Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams effectively.
9. Work with adhesives and precision assembly tools, along with various equipment like fusion splicers, high precision fiber cleavers, polishing machines, and testing tools.
10. Serve as a positive role model within the team.
11. Assist in production scheduling and control.
12. Participate in on-the-job training and contribute to the development of new training programs, potentially introducing new processes for production areas.
13. Engage in program or functional team projects aimed at enhancing process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to improve program quality, cost, and scheduling.
14. Support the implementation and maintenance of the 5S+1 program to ensure clean and orderly work areas while adhering to safety regulations; report and rectify unsafe practices immediately.
15. Lead daily departmental GEMBA meetings, update board contents, and follow up on actions and performance measurements.
16. Ensure compliance with ESD standards, chemical regulations, and tooling audits.
17. Assist in identifying the need for tooling and testing equipment, making recommendations for design and planning.

Qualifications:
1. Experience with sub-surface communication optical cable, potting, fiber optics, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
2. Certified IPC Specialist to IPC J-STD-001 standards is preferred.
3. Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills are essential.
4. A two-year post-secondary/Associates degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience in an electronics manufacturing environment is required.
5. Ability to devise creative yet practical solutions to technical challenges.
6. Demonstrated experience in interpreting schematic diagrams and engineering drawings.
7. Willingness to travel as required.

Education:
A two-year post-secondary/Associates degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience in an electronics manufacturing environment is required.
