  • Provide expert support in the assembly of potting, electro-mechanical, and fiber optic systems.
  • Handle, inspect, clean, and prepare delicate optical components and assemblies.
  • Comprehend and utilize a wide range of electrical, electronic, and mechanical components such as fiber optics, solder, resistors, and capacitors.
  • Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams effectively.
  • Work with adhesives and precision assembly tools, employing various equipment such as fusion splicers and polishing machines.
  • Act as a positive role model within the team.
  • Assist in production scheduling and control.
  • Engage in on-the-job training and contribute to the development of new training programs.
  • Participate in team projects aimed at improving processes, quality, cost, and scheduling.
  • Support the implementation of the 5S+1 program to maintain clean and orderly work areas, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Lead daily departmental meetings, updating board contents, and measuring performance effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD standards and conduct audits of tools and equipment.
  • Assist in identifying the need for tooling and testing equipment, providing recommendations for design and planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with sub-surface communication optical cables, potting, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Certification as an IPC Specialist to IPC J-STD-001 standards is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills are essential.
  • A two-year post-secondary/associate degree with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to devise creative yet practical solutions to technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting schematic diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

EDUCATION:
  • A two-year post-secondary/associate degree with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
