Job Overview

The Construction Project Coordinator (CPC) position is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. The CPC is tasked with facilitating project workflows, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Programming Phase**

  • Gather and document client specifications.
  • Outline the primary project scope of work.
  • Assess site and building layout limitations.
  • Research local codes and permitting requirements.
  • Create preliminary site plans and drawings to present to clients.
  • Estimate initial project budgets.
  • Identify timelines and constraints in a high-level schedule.

2. **Schematic Design Phase**

  • Refine project scope with input from clients and team members.
  • Manage the services of consultants and design resources.
  • Collect and analyze preliminary data from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with the design team to produce initial project documentation.
  • Establish project budgets for client review.
  • Ensure compliance with client specifications and regulations.
  • Review schematic documents with key operational team members.
  • Develop a detailed design schedule in collaboration with operations leads.
  • Secure client approval for the next project phase.

3. **Detailed Development Phase**

  • Prepare draft contract documents outlining the scope of work.
  • Lead the internal team in developing comprehensive project cost estimates.
  • Verify the completeness of submissions from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure timely production of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits.

4. **Construction Phase**

  • Document preconstruction meetings.
  • Support estimating and material procurement.
  • Generate procurement documents for labor and materials.
  • Participate in safety planning activities.
  • Facilitate subcontractor prequalification and site mobilization.

Administrative and Technical Support:

  • Engage in safety and quality management documentation.
  • Develop expertise in project management software.
  • Assist in cost and schedule control efforts.
  • Support change management and project closeout processes.

  • Conduct job site observations to enhance safety and minimize rework.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 0-5 years of experience in construction.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
