Job Summary

General Dynamics Land Systems is a leading manufacturer of tracked and wheeled military equipment, seeking skilled machinists/CNC operators to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for performing various machining operations, operating and maintaining measuring instruments, and ensuring the quality of manufactured products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of machining operations, including turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, reaming, tapping, and contouring, to produce high-quality parts.
  • Enter revisions of programmed dimensions, feed rates, and spindle speeds on the machine console, and operate multiple machines at a work center.
  • Operate and understand measuring instruments, such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers, and use them to preset tools and calibrate tool-setting equipment.
  • Identify and correct machining problems, such as improper depth, size, or location of holes, and maintain tooling for the machine.
  • Clean and lubricate drilled holes, check critical part dimensions, and utilize gauges and other measuring devices to ensure quality.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical Training/Certification from a licensed Technical or Trade School, preferably in Machining or 6 months experience, 1-2 years preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, good communication skills, attention to detail, and a team player with a strong work ethic
  • Must be a US Person (legal permanent resident of the USA)
