About the Role

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a skilled Cancer Registrar I to join our team. As a Cancer Registrar I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of cancer data for research and treatment purposes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical record reviews to identify and abstract cancer cases
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely data collection
  • Apply knowledge of cancer registry guidelines and standards to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on cancer registry best practices
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of cancer registry policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of experience in cancer registry or medical records
  • Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) and/or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in cancer registry or medical records
  • Knowledge of cancer registry software and systems
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
