Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food and Beverage Operations Manager to join our team at Mainsail Lodging & Development. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests, developing and maintaining a strong team environment, and supporting the Food and Beverage management team with day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily functions of hotel operations, including Aerial Kitchen & Bar, The Office Bar, and special events as directed by the Outlets Manager or Director of Operations.
  • Ensure that scheduled functions are complete and set up accurately.
  • Assist in maintaining a motivated, interactive, and positive team environment.
  • Assist with onboarding and training staff.
  • Maintain professionalism with team members, managers, and guests.
  • Open and close shifts in accordance with the managers' checklist.
  • Greet guests, initiate conversations, and solicit feedback from guests.
  • Handle daily scheduling of team members and adjust when necessary.
  • Implement proper tools for running shifts, including schedules, floor plans, reservations, etc.
  • Solve team member issues, such as call-outs or daily issues.
  • Find solutions to guest issues, such as last-minute changes in reservations or cancellations.
  • Stay on the floor during meal periods.
  • Monitor hours and watch the flow of business, making cuts as necessary to maintain service levels.
  • Ensure daily side work is completed prior to staff leaving.
  • Ensure daily huddles and team members are in proper uniform/approved attire.
  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers drinking by following TIPS practices.
  • Ensure team members are aware of all applicable laws regarding alcoholic beverages.
  • Monitor and maintain tables.
  • Rotate stations fairly.
  • Demonstrate positive communication with team members.
  • Maintain fair and consistent coaching and counseling.
  • Attend meetings as necessary.
  • Communicate and maintain positive inter-departmental relations.
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Communicate with managers and the next shift about any issues.
  • Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests.
Qualification Standards

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A High School diploma or higher.
  • Previous hospitality experience, preferably in Food and Beverage.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to use technology, such as tablets and iPads.
  • Experience with Micros POS and OpenTable restaurant management software is preferred.
Physical and Mental Demands

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Communicate clearly.
  • Have corrected vision to normal range.
  • Work long hours as needed.
  • Lift, pull 50 lbs.
