Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer II to join our team at Core Group Resources. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing, integrating, and testing completed designs, while assisting with analysis and design tasks within schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Analyze fuel, HVAC, steering, hydraulic, and propulsion systems to determine size requirements, power requirements, performance curves, and associated losses.
  • Structural Analysis: Perform hand calculations and FEA on structural components/assemblies to verify working stresses.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Establish functional and acceptance test plans for system designs, partner with quality to troubleshoot installation issues, determine root cause, and recommend solutions.
  • Engineering Deliverables: Develop engineering deliverables in accordance with engineering processes, ensuring safe, fit for purpose engineering deliverables, and presenting material associated with the above life-cycle reviews.
  • Weight Management: Partner with Weight Manager to monitor and control the weight of the systems to meet design targets.
  • Engineering Change Notifications: Create and review of Engineering Change Notifications to formally release design data.
  • System Life-Cycle Activities: Participate in System Requirements Review (SRR), System Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Detailed/Critical Design Review (DDR/CDR).
  • Document Control: Release drawings into Product Life Cycle Management system following company workflow.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Create engineering reports to show compliance with project requirements based on design, test, analysis, and similarity.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5 years of product design/engineering experience in an engineering environment and demonstrated skills in the design of moderately complex fabricated and machined parts and assemblies.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of operation, principles, and practices of engineering drafting and computer programs with intermediate skills in SolidWorks, PRO-E, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Inventor software programs.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of fabrication methods, welding techniques, machine tools, cutting tools, and machining process.
