About the Position

Tulane University is seeking a Professor of Practice in Mechanical Engineering to join our faculty. As a member of our department, you will play a key role in shaping the future of mechanical engineering education and research at Tulane.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical engineering, including introductory and advanced courses in mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
  • Develop and implement innovative curricula and pedagogies to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of research programs in mechanical engineering, including collaborations with industry partners and other academic departments.
  • Advise and mentor students in their academic and professional pursuits.
  • Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and outreach activities.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Strong research background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on energy, manufacturing, materials, mechanics, or robotics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and industry partners.
