**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer II to join our team at Core Group Resources. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing, integrating, and testing completed designs. You will work closely with our team to analyze and design tasks within schedule and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze fuel, HVAC, steering, hydraulic, and propulsion systems to determine size requirements, power requirements, performance curves, and associated losses.
- Perform hand calculations and FEA on structural components/assemblies to verify working stresses.
- Establish functional and acceptance test plans for system designs.
- Partner with quality to troubleshoot installation issues, determine root cause, and recommend solutions.
- Develop engineering deliverables in accordance with engineering processes, ensuring safe, fit for purpose engineering deliverables, and presenting material associated with the above life-cycle reviews.
- Partner with Weight Manager to monitor and control the weight of the systems to meet design targets.
- Create and review of Engineering Change Notifications to formally release design data.
- System life-cycle activities – including System Requirements Review (SRR), System Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Detailed/Critical Design Review (DDR/CDR).
- Release drawings into Product Life Cycle Management system following company workflow.
- Create engineering reports to show compliance with project requirements based on design, test, analysis, and similarity.
- Partner with quality to troubleshoot installation issues, determine root cause, and recommend solutions.
Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent.
- 5 years of product design/engineering experience in an engineering environment and demonstrated skills in the design of moderately complex fabricated and machined parts and assemblies.
- Knowledge of operation, principles, and practices of engineering drafting and computer programs with intermediate skills in SolidWorks, PRO-E, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Inventor software programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of fabrication methods, welding techniques, machine tools, cutting tools, and machining process.
