Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager in Training to join our team at Mike's Carwash. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading and developing our associates and shift managers, while providing an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that all customers receive a high-quality experience, including maintaining acceptable wash quality, staffing, and professionally handling customer complaints and damages.
  • Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the carwash, including managing detergent costs and inventory, and ensuring that all locations are operating up to Mike's Carwash standards and guidelines.
  • Associate and Management Development: Serve as a backup to the General Manager in the hiring process, complete location orientation and training checklists, and participate in ongoing development of the team through one-on-one meetings, quarterly performance check-ins, and performance appraisals.
  • Property and Equipment Maintenance: Assist the General Manager in maintaining and repairing equipment, completing OPEX checklists, and ensuring the cleanliness of all areas of the carwash.
  • Personal Development: Participate in a structured management training program and pursue any skill or knowledge gaps.
Requirements
  • Two years of retail/service industry management experience or equivalent leadership experience.
  • Ability to work all scheduled shifts, including every other weekend, and have the capabilities to close at least two nights each week.
  • Ability to transfer between stores within the market.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position include standing or walking continuously, using hands for gripping pressure, and operating hand and foot controls. The employee may also be required to lift 50lbs. for up to 3 feet, pull 10lbs. for up to 10 feet, and carry up to 50lbs. for 10 feet.

Work Environment

The work environment includes working outdoors in temperatures of 0-100 degrees Fahrenheit, working with machinery with moving parts, and wearing gloves and eye or hearing protection.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Reasoning and Development: Ability to deal with practical problems and implement appropriate solutions.
  2. Mathematical Development: Ability to score an 80% on our Money Handling Skills Assessment without use of a calculator.
  3. Language Development: Ability to read product manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures, and speak with poise and confidence.
