Position Overview: The Retail Operations Assistant Manager will oversee various elements of the thrift store retail environment, including personnel management, inventory control, donation processing, and overall store functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Thrift Store Manager in supervising store staff, including scheduling, training, and oversight.
  • Ensure adherence to Federal, State, and The Salvation Army regulations and policies.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy environment for both customers and staff throughout the establishment.
  • Manage cash register operations, sales documentation, and the processing of financial records at the end of each business day, including necessary bank deposits.
  • Work towards achieving sales targets and budgetary goals to ensure the profitability of the retail operation.
  • Ensure that all donations are processed in accordance with established protocols.
  • Address customer-related concerns in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Driving is a necessary function of this role.
  • Collect thrift store donations from local businesses.
  • Open and close the store as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Role: This position involves supervising thrift store staff and volunteers.
