Summary About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun. Responsibilities Serve as the recognized authoritative consultant in aircraft combat survivability, aviation survivability equipment, and enemy threat systems. Plan and develop training and assessment programs for aircraft combat forensics training. Coordinate with the Joint Aircraft Survivability Program Office (JCAT) to implement accreditation strategies for individual and collective training. Evaluate the requirements for the development of new Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for aircraft combat survivability training. Train and equip combat assessment teams for worldwide deployment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using knowledge of enemy threat systems and aircraft survivability equipment to plan and develop aircraft survivability and combat forensics training and assessment programs, developing and implementing new or modified training programs related to aircraft survivability, counter aviation threat tactics and/or aircraft forensics; Implementing and/or maintaining training accreditation standards, and incorporating new or modified training into course of instruction based on lessons learned. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Education / Training Program Administration Learning and Program Evaluation Training and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For the GS-13 grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
