Role Responsibilities:
Drees Homes is currently in search of an Assistant Construction Manager within our Northern Kentucky Division. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals aspiring to build a career with a leader in the homebuilding sector.

As an Assistant Construction Manager, you will collaborate with an experienced Construction Manager, gaining hands-on experience in high-volume communities or multiple sites as part of a structured training initiative aimed at preparing you for future managerial roles.

Training Program:
The Assistant Construction Manager Program is meticulously designed to equip Trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge for future Construction Manager positions within the organization. Trainees will be exposed to every aspect of the construction process, from customer plan approvals to the first year's warranty service. Training will encompass shadowing, classroom instruction, and practical on-the-job training through a comprehensive program consisting of nine modules.

Key Duties:

  • Monitor the progress and quality of all ongoing construction projects.
  • Establish and uphold high performance standards for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Manage material usage to control costs effectively.
  • Proactively address customer inquiries regarding the construction process.
  • Engage actively in the maintenance of subdivisions and model homes.
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations and other safety protocols.
  • Create detailed punch lists for framing, mechanical, and insulation tasks.
  • Utilize internal software systems to track job completion progress.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

  • Ability to assist with scheduling, cost management, and quality assurance.
  • Self-motivated with a high energy level and a positive demeanor.
  • Capability to hold subcontractors accountable for their work.
  • Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and a customer-centric approach.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Background:

  • 2-4 year college degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of construction-related experience (internships or short-term positions during studies are acceptable).
  • Familiarity with using an iPad is advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for homebuilding and a drive for success.

Work Schedule:
This position typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, with additional hours as necessary.
