Wakefield serves as one of our largest production facilities, functioning as a flexible plant capable of producing a wide range of products, from whole pasteurized eggs to liquid, dried, hardboiled eggs, and curds.

Position Overview:

The Inventory Clerk is essential for the effective management of supply operations, ensuring coordination between production and maintenance teams to uphold optimal stock levels and timely issuance of parts. This role also supports cycle counting initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure sufficient operating supplies are available in the stockroom and distribute parts as required.
  • Provide insights on stock levels and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), identifying potential areas for improvement.
  • Participate in cycle counting initiatives and contribute to ongoing improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of procurement activities.
  • Work with all departments to streamline requisitioning, approval, purchasing, and delivery of spare parts and consumables.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP) for tracking inventory and historical data.
  • Be prepared to work overtime and during holidays as necessary.
  • Consistently adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow Quality work practices, comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and uphold product quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills and capability to perform simple calculations.
  • Ability to apply common sense in executing instructions.
  • Proficiency in interpreting various documents and entering data into inventory control systems.
  • Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office and SAP, is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Certification for operating forklifts and pallet jacks is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods.
