RN Educator/Infection Control Specialist

Job Summary:
The RN Educator/Infection Control Specialist is responsible for working collaboratively with management staff and nursing governance representatives to ensure the implementation of orientation, compliance, and continuing in-service education programs for facility personnel.
This individual develops, coordinates, and evaluates educational programs for the orientation and development of staff, including the Nursing Assistant Training Program and infection prevention protocols.
The RN Educator/Infection Control Specialist serves as a resource and mentor for Nurse Preceptors and new nurses, providing education and support during department-based orientation.
They coordinate and lead delivery of corporate mandatory in-service education for facility staff and plan and lead General Orientation Programs to acquaint new personnel to the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, coordinates, and evaluates educational programs for staff orientation and development
- Serves as a resource and mentor for Nurse Preceptors and new nurses
- Coordinates and leads delivery of corporate mandatory in-service education
- Plans and leads General Orientation Programs
- Coordinates the Nursing Assistant Training Program and infection prevention protocols
Qualifications:
- Credentials of a Registered Professional nurse with a current NYS license required
- Baccalaureate degree preferred
- Experience in in-service education or skills in teaching; at least one year experience in a long-term health care facility required
