Job Summary:

The Assurance Director role at BDO is a senior position that recognizes professionals who have achieved recognition in a technical area of assurance and risk management. This role is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated expertise and are qualified to perform limited yet critical additional technical functions as an Engagement Director or as a Concurring Reviewer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply business acumen to provide services, solutions, and advice that considers and improves the organization as a whole.
  • Perform technical roles such as Engagement Director or Concurring Reviewer, requiring advanced knowledge of governing principles, GAAP, and GAAS.
  • Supervise managers, seniors, and staff, motivating team members and providing constructive suggestions to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Act as a Career Advisor to associates, senior associates, and managers, providing verbal and written performance reviews.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, with a Master's degree in Accountancy preferred.
  • Eight or more years of prior relevant audit experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience.
  • Prior significant supervisory experience and industry expertise in one or more assurance specialty.
  • Active licensed US CPA or recognized active International Equivalent, with the ability to obtain an active US CPA license within a specified timeframe.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and experience with assurance applications and research tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of SEC reporting rules, if required by specialization.
  • Executive presence, including the ability to be a primary contact for clients, prepare and present presentations, and possess people development and delegation skills.

Compensation:

Individual salaries are determined after consideration of numerous factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The salary range for this position is $145,000 - $255,000, depending on location.
