Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Clerk to join our Corporate Accounting team at Griffith Company. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting our accounting functions by applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Post daily cash receipts and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Process vendor credit applications and trade reference checks for customer applications.
  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries for the General Ledger.
  • Upload positive pay and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Viewpoint Software or an equivalent ERP system.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting.
  • 3+ years of experience as an accounting clerk, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
  • Most time spent in an indoor office environment.
  • Sitting at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting of files and boxes up to 20 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling of file cabinets.
  • Extended visual use of a computer screen.
  • Frequent typing.
  • Occasional travel.
