About the Position

The Department of Pathology at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant Professor to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in prostate cancer, with a focus on cancer genetics, metabolism, environmental toxicity, and their impact on prostate cancer risk and outcome.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in vitro experiments, in vivo work, and in silico analysis to advance our understanding of prostate cancer biology
  • Train and mentor postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduates in research techniques and methodologies
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement research projects, and present findings at national and international conferences
  • Participate in weekly laboratory meetings, journal clubs, and seminars to stay up-to-date on the latest research developments
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications to secure funding for our research initiatives

Requirements

  • PhD in Biology or a related field, with postdoctoral training and a strong track record of independent research
  • Expertise in molecular genetics, prostate cancer biology, CRISPR gene editing, bioinformatics, or related areas
  • A strong publication record and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
