Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Operations to lead our construction and maintenance projects in the power generation industry.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with a proven track record of steering multiple projects to completion.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Recruiting and motivating staff to achieve goals and objectives
  • Managing a significant team or subject matter for the company
  • Establishing goals and objectives for the team consistent with the company's strategic direction
  • High level understanding of applicable laws, best management practices, field construction practices, employee training, and working with local, state and federal agencies
  • Working with Project Owner, Project Management and government agencies to ensure comprehensive compliance throughout all phases of construction
  • Directing/preparing complex analysis and reports on key issues for projects
  • Directing/preparing periodic project audits to ensure compliance with company's Management Plans
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks to project execution
  • Maintaining excellent communications with the customer, Project Managers and government agencies
  • Managing environmental permitting for EHV transmission line and substation projects
  • Leading knowledge transfer and development of staff within area of expertise
  • Managing the compensation budget to meet company metrics
  • Leading in expanding current work for new and existing clients

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management or a related field
  • 20+ years of directly related experience in the management of power generation construction projects that will be operated by utility companies
