Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced District Manager to lead our multi-unit store operations and drive business growth for Refuel Market. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing store-level personnel, ensuring operational excellence, and promoting a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Human Resources: Recruit, hire, and select store-level personnel, including management-level positions. Ensure management coverage and store schedules are set according to labor models. Complete orientation and training of new team members with store managers. Manage team members fairly and consistently, holding them accountable for performance. Administer coaching and corrective documentation to improve performance. Recognize positive contributions and conduct performance appraisals with store managers.
  • Inventory Control: Ensure appropriate merchandise is ordered. Train all management on proper order placement and procedures. Take corrective action to prevent and resolve inventory losses caused by theft and accounting. Conduct safe fund audits.
  • Safety/Security and Compliance: Ensure all stores comply with security, safety, and loss prevention procedures. Strictly enforce NACS robbery prevention and security protocols as defined by the company. Serve as a member of the Rapid Response Team to respond to incidents involving injury.
  • Merchandising/Marketing: Maintain planograms, correct pricing, marketing, and changes. Conduct gasoline and product price surveys as directed. Review out-of-stocks and correct stocking issues. Review pricing and correct pricing issues, specifically un-priced products. Review and ensure promotional advertising is properly placed. Ensure stores are well-stocked and merchandise is available at all times.
  • Operations: Ensure stores visit budgets and company goals are met. Maintain all locations by performing operational inspections. Complete and assist store team members in completing daily, weekly, and monthly store and corporate reporting. Be present during monthly retail audits. Ensure control counts are completed as assigned. Serve as a positive, professional role model for team members. Resolve customer service complaints. Coach and develop managers, assistant managers, and team members.
  • Financial: Be responsible for overall profitability of store locations, including sales, gross profit dollars and margins, shrink, payroll, and expenses.
Requirements
  • At least two years of successful single-unit store operation or equivalent experience in the industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of convenience store and restaurant business, general management.
  • Ability to write, analyze, and evaluate operating reports, profit and loss statements, internal and external business correspondence in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to relate to a diverse workforce and effectively influence others throughout the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player to leverage relationships to accomplish goals.
  • Highly adaptable to change.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are critical.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel); ability and willingness to learn PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate ability to work on-call schedule.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and time management skills.
