A career opportunity has arisen at Public Service Enterprise Group Inc, a leading energy company, for an experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee the Asset Management group in IT Operational Technology. This role is responsible for managing a team of analysts and contractors, ensuring the development and delivery of application support for operational systems, and maintaining SAP Asset Registry for Inside Plant Assets.

As a key member of the IT Operational Technology team, you will work closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, develop product visions, and define project roadmaps. You will also be responsible for monitoring infrastructure upgrades, performing quality assurance rollouts, and analyzing performance dashboards to ensure compliance with cost, schedule, and budget targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • (1) Manage the day-to-day activities of the asset management team and contractors, including performance management, creating a positive work environment, problem-solving within the team, identifying and tracking training and development needs, recruiting and onboarding new staff, and prioritizing tasks effectively;
  • (2) Drive and execute projects and efforts within assigned areas, working with team members and stakeholders to uncover business needs and value drivers, identify and capture business problems and requirements, and document desired future states that meet business needs and enterprise objectives;
  • (3) Develop and manage the cost model for portfolios, identify appropriate cost levers for improvement, and analyze performance dashboards and scorecards to quantify and measure outcomes and identify persistent problems;
  • (4) Monitor infrastructure in Business Domain and ensure timely implementation of upgrades, patches, etc., and manage quality assurance rollouts, perform functional and security analysis to assess the robustness of projects recently launched;
  • (5) Oversee the product roadmap, ensuring it codifies the product vision and reflects business language, and develop and manage the cost model for individual products, identifying appropriate cost levers for improvement;
  • (6) Conceptualize and initiate product strategies, develop the product backlog and actionable user stories for individual products, develop reporting/dashboards to provide portfolio visibility to business management, evaluate and assess risk as part of the lifecycle analysis of products, and account for stakeholder approval on portfolio strategy and plan;
  • (7) Work with governance bodies to review and approve strategies, categories, and overall structure, orchestrating technology capabilities from strategy through requirements to enable business capabilities identified as strategic to business success.

Salary Range: $101,600 - $160,900 per annum.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Business, or related field;
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in information technology or industry with reliance on technical expertise;
  • Sound expertise in project/program and portfolio management;
  • Technology procurement & technology financial operations experience ensuring vendor contracts support business and corporate needs;
  • Proven experience in managing program/project budgets and technology cost centers in large corporate environments to ensure corporate targets are met;
  • Proven experience in long-term planning, including building roadmaps and program planning;
  • Technically knowledgeable with ability to assess solutions for current and future needs across organizations;
  • Proficient in working with business areas to understand needs/requirements and provide innovative solutions;
  • Proven experience with leading teams on implementation and enhancements;
  • Track record as innovator and agent leading organizations and people through change;
  • Sound expertise in technology resource management, job positions, career paths, and recruiting;
  • Ability to present to all levels of management & executive leadership;
  • Ability to proactively communicate technical topics in clear, succinct, and relevant way;
  • Strong leadership and influence skills;
  • Excellent teamwork, facilitation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
