About the Role:

The Crisis Intervention Specialist at Northwest Human Services is a vital position that requires empathy, compassion, and excellent communication skills. This role involves providing 24-hour crisis intervention, suicide prevention, risk assessment, and brief supportive counseling over the phone to individuals experiencing emotional distress or seeking mental health services.

This opportunity is part of the Crisis and Information Hotline, which operates 365 days a year and serves Marion and Polk counties. As a member of our team, you will have the chance to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide crisis intervention, risk assessment screening, safety planning, follow-up support, and advocacy based on clients' needs.
  • Work effectively as a member of an integrated team to provide comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and manage high-pressure situations.
  • QMHAR level certification eligibility required.

  • A competitive salary range of $48,000 - $50,000 per annum (based on DOE) for this full-time position.
