We are currently seeking a skilled Mental Health Nurse Specialist for a 13-week contract in Salem, Massachusetts.

Estimated Salary: $85-$115 per hour (based on 40 hours per week)

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Specialist. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to patients with mental health disorders, emotional challenges, and behavioral issues.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including evaluating emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning.
  • Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs, in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and monitor for side effects, documenting responses appropriately.
  • Respond to psychiatric emergencies, such as suicidal ideation, aggressive behavior, or severe anxiety.
  • Implement de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions to ensure patient and staff safety.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification, and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (RN-BC) preferred.
