Position Title: IT Security Analyst

Overview: The IT Security Analyst is integral to the administration and support of the comprehensive IT security strategy across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the design and planning of the enterprise security framework under the supervision of the IT Manager.
  • Contributes to the development of critical security documentation, including policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Supports the formulation of a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategy for the organization.
  • Oversees server monitoring, coordinates responses to antivirus incidents, and ensures systems are equipped with the latest security updates.
  • Remains updated on advancements in the cybersecurity field and suggests improvements to current security measures.
  • Implements, integrates, and configures new security technologies in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensures secure configurations for all devices and verifies the effective operation of security systems.
  • Conducts vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
  • Provides support to end-users regarding security solutions and engages in security investigations.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with access control and security protocols in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Comprehension of software and hardware support within a TCP/IP network framework.
  • Excellent customer service abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Expertise in diagnosing and resolving user configuration challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:

A degree from a four-year accredited institution in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline.

Substitution Policy:

Relevant full-time experience in establishing and managing system security standards may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.

Promotional Criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in designated IT roles within the organization.
  • Civil service status in applicable classifications.
