JOB SUMMARY
As an Automotive Repair Specialist, you will perform skilled service, maintenance, and repair work on vehicles and related equipment. This role requires the ability to meet essential job functions satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

While not every duty is detailed here, you may be required to perform tasks that are reasonably considered incidental to your primary responsibilities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


• Conduct skilled preventive maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on County Fleet vehicles, adhering to safety regulations under basic supervision.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, fuel supply, hydraulic, and cooling systems.
• Prioritize work tasks based on the extent of necessary repairs.
• Transport equipment for repairs and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Review equipment status, perform safety inspections, and report any significant issues to supervisors.

Maintain accurate records of services performed and vehicle information, ensuring confidentiality of work-related issues and customer records.


POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES:


For Light Duty Assignments:
• Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on County vehicles.
• Repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, and other systems using technical manuals and diagnostic equipment.

For Heavy Duty Assignments:
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on heavy equipment.
• Perform technical repairs and system overhauls on heavy machinery.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of two years of experience in automotive or equipment repair.
• Valid Arizona State Commercial Driver's License required within six months of hire for Heavy Duty Assignments.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Proficient in methods, tools, and equipment used in vehicle repair.
• Knowledgeable in safety regulations and occupational hazards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The role requires the ability to exert significant force and perform various physical activities, including lifting, climbing, and operating vehicles or heavy equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is conducted in a secure environment, with occasional unexpected demands.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Reports to the Automotive Maintenance Supervisor.
