Waste Connections US, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Fleet Mechanic to become a vital part of our operations.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with a competitive pay rate starting at $28.00 per hour, depending on experience, along with regular wage increases.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance services on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension, brakes, and air systems.
- Utilize electronic vehicle systems to diagnose issues and facilitate repairs.
- Complete necessary documentation using fleet maintenance software for vehicle repairs, parts usage, and repair time tracking.
- Review and address repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Conduct safety inspections on vehicles and equipment.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform service calls as needed. A Class B CDL is preferred or the ability to obtain one in the future.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Working Conditions:
- This role involves extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting and handling of objects over 50 pounds.
- Work may be performed indoors in a shop or outdoors, requiring flexibility to work in various conditions.
- Occasional awkward positions and handling of greasy tools may be necessary, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement is preferred or the ability to obtain one in the future.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Must possess personal tools; welding and fabrication experience is a significant advantage.
