Role Summary

The Lead IT Support Technician is responsible for executing a wide range of IT functions, from standard installations to intricate technical challenges, all while operating under minimal supervision. This role requires a high level of expertise in managing complex IT tasks and providing exceptional support to users. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, often leading technical projects to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and configure desktop systems, laptops, peripherals, and software in various environments.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware issues for desktop and portable devices.
  • Offer guidance and training to users on the effective use of IT resources.
  • Evaluate customer service requests and deliver timely technical solutions.
  • Conduct IT compliance audits as required, ensuring adherence to established policies.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to team leadership as necessary.
  • Utilize ticketing systems to manage and resolve support requests efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and document findings.
  • Communicate effectively with users through various channels, including phone and email.
  • Prepare equipment for repurposing or disposal as needed.
  • Provide remote technical support to users in various locations.
  • Oversee software and hardware upgrades across multiple devices.
  • Assist in the relocation and setup of IT equipment for new office spaces.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that involve bending, reaching, and moving equipment.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing desktop operating systems and hardware.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant IT certifications in desktop and mobile support.
  • Strong customer service skills and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership capabilities.
  • Active security clearance is required.
