Position Summary

The Lead Teller Coordinator is tasked with overseeing the daily operations of the Teller department within a branch, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, delivering exceptional customer service, and driving sales initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee compliance with all regulatory, security, and banking policies relevant to the Teller operations.
  • Provide necessary training, motivation, and support to teller staff to ensure outstanding customer service and precision.
  • Assess staffing requirements through effective scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Coach each teller to meet their designated referral targets monthly.
  • Conduct monthly and annual performance evaluations based on teller performance metrics and the quarterly Teller Bonus Program.
  • Implement and oversee the quarterly Teller Bonus Program.
  • Maintain appropriate currency levels and order sufficient cash to support teller operations.
  • Conduct scheduled audits and security assessments.
  • Participate in the hiring process for teller staff.
  • Make decisions regarding check and cash disbursements and authorize official checks.
  • Ensure quality backup is available during the supervisor's absence through effective coaching.
  • Actively contribute to the branch's efforts to achieve assigned sales referral goals by meeting individual targets.

Additional Duties:

  • Engage in mandatory in-house training sessions covering sales, customer service, policies, compliance, product knowledge, and banking systems.
  • Assist at the teller window as required.
  • Monitor timecards and complete all necessary reports.
  • Exhibit flexibility in supporting other branch staffing needs.
  • Ensure proper handling of special service items.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of cashier's checks, money orders, and other essential supplies for daily teller operations.
  • Provide insights on customer feedback regarding product features, pricing, and service needs.

Supervisory Duties:

The Lead Teller Coordinator holds direct supervisory responsibilities and executes these duties in alignment with company policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing the work of employees; evaluating performance; rewarding and addressing employee issues; coaching for performance improvement; and participating in the hiring and training processes.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) with two or more years of experience in banking or teller roles; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to lift/push up to 50 lbs.
  • Onsite presence is required to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

  • Above-average proficiency in keyboarding, computer usage, math, and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to be an effective and fair supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college coursework is desirable.
  • Five or more years of banking experience with teller responsibilities is preferred.
  • Sales experience is advantageous.
