Job Overview

GMA Construction Group is in search of a Lead Project Coordinator who possesses exceptional leadership abilities and the technical expertise to foresee challenges in the field before they arise. The preferred candidate should have at least 7 years of experience in project coordination and reside in the Chicago IL area or nearby regions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Project Coordinators are responsible for managing costs, accounting, scheduling, and subcontractor collaboration to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. Core responsibilities include:

  • Monitor project expenditures and maintain an accurate and up-to-date Cost Report utilizing Procore
  • Prepare Pay Applications with minimal assistance from a Project Accountant
  • Collaborate with project clients to define scope, objectives, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timelines
  • Conduct weekly team status/progress meetings with team members and stakeholders
  • Provide a project timeline to identify when each task will be executed
  • Perform estimates and quantity take-offs using relevant software
  • Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and team members
  • Effectively manage project scope by ensuring that any changes are documented and approved
  • Track and report on project milestones
  • Ensure subcontractors adhere to their safety protocols
  • Organize and archive all project documents following project completion
