Role Summary: The Senior Project Manager is tasked with overseeing and directing the design and project management processes. This includes acting as the primary liaison with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure adherence to budget, timeline, quality standards, safety protocols, and contract obligations. The ideal candidate will have substantial construction experience and a thorough understanding of building systems such as mechanical, electrical, structural, and envelope systems.

The Senior Project Manager will lead the planning, design, and construction phases of capital projects, which encompass new builds and renovations across diverse sectors including commercial, institutional, entertainment, public safety, and educational facilities. Reporting to the Vice President of Buildings and Facilities, this role may also involve mentoring junior project staff based on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Management: Formulate project-specific construction strategies, budgets, and schedules to secure client approval. Oversee design consultants and ensure compliance with project milestones.
  • Cost Oversight: Monitor project expenditures throughout all phases, prepare cost estimates, and track budgets, contracts, and change orders.
  • Schedule Coordination: Develop and maintain project schedules using appropriate software, ensuring timely completion of all phases from planning to closeout.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections and reviews to ensure that construction meets design specifications and quality standards.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Assist in preparing bid documents, manage the bidding process, and oversee contract administration.
  • Client Engagement: Foster relationships with existing clients and assist in developing proposals and presentations for new opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in managing design and construction projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and project management software.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • OSHA 30 Construction Safety Certification and PMP or CCM Certification are preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate both office and construction environments.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting and moving objects.
  • Strong visual acuity for inspections and data analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain focus in a dynamic environment.
