Job Title: Health Services Risk Manager

Community of Hope is seeking a highly skilled Health Services Risk Manager to join our team. As a key member of our health services team, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating risks that impact patient outcomes.

About the Role:

The Health Services Risk Manager will assist in the development and implementation of our Risk Management Program, with a focus on health services elements. This includes ensuring compliance with risk management activities required by the HRSA Community Health Center program to maintain Federal Torts Claim Act (FTCA) deeming status.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the annual Risk Management Plan, with a focus on Health Services requirements and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with FTCA requirements and maintain accurate documentation of activities for annual redeeming application.
  • Monitor requirements and updates to annual requirements related to FTCA deeming.
  • Prepare the Annual Risk Management Update for Health Services and support its presentation to the Board of Directors annually.
  • Complete the Quarterly Health Services Risk Management Dashboard and related reports and analysis.
  • Analyze Unusual Incident Reports for health services monthly and ensure data is accurately entered.
  • Support the identification of quarterly high-risk assessment activity and complete documentation of results.
  • Facilitate communication between teams to ensure awareness of opportunities to reduce or manage risks.
  • Assist in developing educational programs to raise staff awareness of risk exposure and its impact on professional liability.
  • Stay up-to-date on ECRI and FTCA trainings, as well as other relevant trainings.
  • Attend DCPCA Emergency Preparedness meetings with other relevant COH staff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a field such as Social Services, Health Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a community health center or ambulatory setting.
  • Experience with incident reporting, risk management, auditing clinical practice, leading program change/transformation, training staff, knowledge of EHRs, and conducting root cause analyses (RCA) and/or failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) desired or equivalent combination.
  • Experience working as part of a team, with strong ability to think strategically and problem-solve.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong writing and data presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in and/or experience working with under-resourced communities.
