POSITION SUMMARY:

The role is designed to further the mission of PATH by assisting individuals in achieving greater independence and fulfillment. This position involves being an effective team member and providing comprehensive support to the PATH vehicle fleet while assisting the Program Supervisor as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED is required. Experience in commercial transportation is preferred, and proficiency in computer usage is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assistant Duties:

  1. Assist the Program Supervisor in scheduling vehicles for optimal utilization (e.g., group outings), monitoring mileage, coordinating repairs, and updating the transportation tracking system as required.
  2. Ensure that each vehicle is equipped with proper first aid kits and blankets, and request supplies as necessary.
  3. Support the Program Supervisor in reporting all incidents and accidents to the insurance provider and COO.
  4. Verify that all vehicles are properly registered and contain the necessary documentation for registration and insurance.
  5. Ensure that vehicles designated for handicap access have the appropriate plates.
  6. Complete daily maintenance checklists for each vehicle.
  7. Act as a backup for daily mail collection from all satellite locations.
  8. Perform supervisory duties in the absence of the Program Supervisor.

Driver Duties:

  1. Provide support for the PATH Vehicle Fleet as needed.
  2. Maintain a log for each vehicle run.
  3. Manage key control and keep track of spare keys for the entire fleet, which is crucial for emergencies.
  4. Conduct maintenance and safety checks on vehicles each morning and afternoon before departing the parking lot. Notify the Program Supervisor of any required repairs and arrange for vehicle maintenance transportation.
  5. Distribute insurance and registration documents for the vehicle fleet and ensure timely processing of renewals before expiration.
  6. Ensure vehicles are kept clean and monitor their condition, reporting any unusual observations.
  7. Facilitate mail collection and distribution from the internal mailroom.
  8. Provide transportation assistance to the CEO as required.
  9. Offer transportation support to various programs and departments as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position may involve some lifting, frequent standing, and regular walking to fulfill the responsibilities associated with the role.
