Position Overview

We are in search of a motivated Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to enhance the capabilities of the Global System Support Engineers (GSSE) within the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Program Executive Office for Special Operations Forces Digital Applications (PEO SDA). This role is crucial in delivering software-agnostic field support to frontline users of advanced intelligence tools, as well as providing thorough technical and analytical assistance for mission planning and execution systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and finalize all necessary documentation, certifications, and accreditations related to equipment, systems, software, and networks within the Program Management Office (PMO) and its initiatives.
  • Generate and maintain required documentation in accordance with governmental standards and assist in formulating security test plans.
  • Conduct security evaluations to integrate security measures into new capabilities and system upgrades.
  • Manage the software release and patch configuration process.
  • Collaborate with J62 Cybersecurity accreditors to ensure timely approval for all software deployments.
  • Implement and oversee security strategies to effectively mitigate security incidents.
  • Provide recommendations for risk reduction while enhancing security and considering operational needs.
  • Review and improve existing policies and procedures to align security protocols with industry best practices.
  • Assess network security posture through scans utilizing USSOCOM Information Assurance (IA) standard tools and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Deliver scan results to system engineers for remediation in accordance with IA policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience with a minimum of 5 years.
  • Mandatory DoD M (Information Assurance Workforce) IAM level 1 certification maintenance (e.g., Security+, GSLC, CISM, or CISSP).
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts, system Authority to Operate (ATO) maintenance, and implementation of new technologies in diverse enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in continuous monitoring and cybersecurity maintenance of network enclaves.
  • At least 5 years of experience in federal or government agencies in classified settings.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53, DAPPM, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in team-oriented environments.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of relevant certifications is advantageous.
