Job Title: Product Segment Sales Manager at Granite City Electric Supply
Overview:
Granite City Electric Supply stands as a premier electrical distributor, serving electrical contractors along with residential, commercial, and industrial clients throughout the Northeast for over a century. With 30 branches spanning six states, we proudly hold the title of the largest independent electrical supply company in the region. Furthermore, we are honored to be the official electrical supplier for a prominent sports team.
Role Summary:
The Product Segment Sales Manager plays a crucial role in advancing our Power Installation Product division, with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high product standards. Key responsibilities include formulating and implementing business strategies, sourcing products, and promoting the product line both internally and externally. This position also requires acting as a technical authority for the sales team, utilizing internal relationships to maximize overall value, and overseeing various elements such as category management, supplier partnerships, and sales tactics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess deep knowledge of residential and commercial energization initiatives.
- Collaborate with suppliers and sales leadership to foster growth within the business segment.
- Establish efficient processes for executing projects.
- Develop and apply competitive sales strategies in conjunction with sales and pricing teams.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of technical and compliance issues relevant to the business segment.
- Stay informed about product and industry trends, cost considerations, global pricing, and manufacturing practices.
- Manage daily purchasing requirements for designated product lines.
- Identify promotional opportunities in partnership with the Marketing team.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in distribution environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional inventory management capabilities.
