Position Overview
The Technician role encompasses diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing customer machinery in both workshop and field environments while ensuring high levels of productivity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review work schedules, verify necessary equipment and supplies, and prepare for operations at the start of each shift
  • Work autonomously when necessary, with minimal oversight
  • Evaluate technical or physical status using computer systems, service documents, and support programs
  • Confirm findings, review readings, and compare to specifications
  • Collaborate with team members to formulate a plan and execute necessary repairs or replacements
  • Order parts or prepare tools as required
  • Install, rebuild, or repair components and machinery according to specifications
  • Conduct quality assessments upon completion of work
  • Perform general maintenance tasks and upkeep company vehicles
  • Secure equipment and machinery, and finalize all documentation at the end of the shift
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain productivity standards
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not entail any supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of the level three service technician development program
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in heavy machinery, engine, or electric power system repair
  • Familiarity with engine and equipment lines offered by the company
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar machinery and engines
  • Proficiency in utilizing Caterpillar diagnostic tools
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills for Caterpillar machines and components
Technical Skills
Basic keyboarding skills are required.
