About the Position:
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Advisor to support the growth and development of our students at the Brunswick Job Corps Center. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive and supportive living environment, promoting student success, and upholding the values of the Job Corps program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor students to develop a positive attitude, good behavior, and achieve their goals within the dormitory setting.
- Coordinate with counselors for student support and arrange necessary visits.
- Engage in and facilitate unit activities, including promoting unit government.
- Regularly patrol and monitor dormitories, ensuring student safety and appropriate behavior.
- Handle administrative tasks such as preparing reports, managing pass lists, and maintaining correspondence.
- Lead dormitory maintenance efforts, directing students in cleanup activities.
- Manage supplies for dorm living and student safety.
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date student files and documentation.
- Enter case notes into the center information system.
- Foster a safe living environment and encourage positive peer leadership.
- Conduct group sessions and teach independent living skills.
- Uphold Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy and model career success standards.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively with students and staff, and demonstrate a commitment to the values and mission of the Job Corps program.
