About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and People Operations Senior/Specialist to join our team at Commonwealth Financial Network LLC. As a key member of our People Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our payroll processes and maintaining employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Administration:
    • Process bi-weekly payroll for 1,200+ employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
    • Manage payroll-related tasks, including data entry, wage calculations, deductions, and back-end review and reconciliation.
    • Prepare and submit payroll reports as required, maintaining confidentiality and security of payroll information.
    • Assist with internal, external, and workers' compensation audits, collaborating with the People and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • People Operations Support:
    • Address employee and manager inquiries regarding payroll, compensation, performance management, benefits, and paid time off.
    • Review and assist with leave calculators, with a focus on intermittent leave calculations.
    • Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, preparing onboarding materials and ensuring accurate and confidential employee records.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll role, with a focus on multi-state payroll.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a talent for accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in payroll software and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Excel a plus.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with an indispensable service mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
