Overview

The Lead Operations Strategist plays a pivotal role in the advancement of the Operational Excellence Program in collaboration with the Corporate PWS Leader, ensuring effective implementation at the Plant level. This position is tasked with providing oversight, guidance, mentorship, and skill development for the Plant Operating team, facilitating the successful execution of the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion the company's culture, values, and principles while actively engaging in corporate initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), review modifications to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all plant operations, and oversee training and adherence to these procedures.
  • Drive ongoing enhancements in Safety, Quality, and Productivity by employing problem-solving methodologies and leveraging operational expertise.
  • Monitor critical performance indicators in alignment with Operations Excellence and Work System Practices, fostering collaboration among all departments (Engineering, Safety, Asset Reliability, Quality, etc.) to address performance gaps.
  • Develop tailored training and development plans for both direct and indirect reports to optimize team capabilities.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis for operational losses, utilizing economic assessments and critical thinking to identify alternative solutions and approaches.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, performance assessments, attendance management, succession planning, and recognition programs to attract and retain top talent within operations.
  • Promote adherence to Work System processes among Plant personnel through partnership and educational initiatives.
  • Ensure the execution of all repairs and modifications resulting from gap assessments, plant audits, notifications, and loss improvement activities.
  • Engage in capacity or budget planning, collect and analyze relevant data, and present informed recommendations to management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering, or a related field, accompanied by over 7 years of supervisory experience in production.
  • Proficient in Continuous Improvement methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, TPM, RCA).
  • Familiarity with cGMPs and experience in supervisory roles within pharmaceutical or nutritional operations.
  • Direct experience in managing infant nutritional manufacturing processes or overseeing spray drying facilities.
  • Exemplary judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven leadership skills, with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills, along with a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing, packaging, and warehousing processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective listening and presentation abilities.
  • Capability to provide direction across multiple production areas and shifts.
  • Adept at managing operations in high-pressure environments.
