Position Overview
As a key member of the finance team at Lesaffre Group, the Senior Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of essential functions, including:

Accounting Responsibilities
  • Processing invoices and managing internal requests efficiently.
  • Preparing and posting journal entries while maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Ensuring adherence to established accounting procedures for designated tasks.

Reporting Duties
  • Overseeing the month-end and year-end closing processes for a specific legal entity, ensuring timely and precise reporting.
  • Generating, reviewing, and distributing monthly financial reports for operational and executive stakeholders.
  • Reconciling and inputting monthly financial data into the Group's consolidation system.

Financial Analysis
  • Examining monthly financial statements and investigating significant variances against budgets and forecasts.
  • Conducting analyses and reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts.
  • Creating concise analytical reports as requested by management.
  • Providing insightful analytics to support management and departmental decision-making.

Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Assisting in the development of budgets and periodic forecasts for assigned business units.
  • Facilitating the input and reconciliation of budget and forecast data into the Group's consolidation system.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Cost Team in completing the annual physical inventory for the legal entity.
  • Engaging in special projects and other duties as required to foster positive business relationships.

Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred experience in public accounting.
  • Six to seven years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • CPA certification or candidacy is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP and/or Oracle systems is advantageous.
  • Experience with HFM is a plus.
