Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc. for our Dry Dock project. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the prime contract, managing subcontractors, and performing materials controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detailing and drafting using software for field use, including shop drawings for rebar, forming, scaffolds, and traffic control.
  • Reviewing subcontractors' and vendors' shop drawings for conformance to contract drawings and specifications.
  • Updating RFIs electronically into drawings and specifications of all design packages.
  • Coordinating drawings of all disciplines to identify conflicts or clashes, utilizing BIM 360 or Revit as needed.
  • Maintaining electronic as-built drawings and information for submission to the Department of the Navy.
  • Assisting the Quality Control Manager in processing RFIs, Submittals, Contractor Daily Reports, QC Reports, Project Photos, QC Meeting Agendas, and Meeting Minutes.
  • Performing miscellaneous Project Engineering work as needed.
Requirements
  • Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree or completion of a Construction Management Certificate Program or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of practical construction experience.
  • Basic estimating and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, and Adobe.
  • Able to plan and organize tasks, have effective written and verbal communication skills, and function under pressure or time limitations.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to obtain a base pass on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam.
  • Project schedule: 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday), may require night shifts.

Starting Salary: $90,000/yr.
