Job Title: Maui Project Engineer

At Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Maui Project Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Maui Project Engineer will be responsible for administering the prime contract for the project, managing all subcontractors, performing materials controls, and ensuring compliance with contract drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detailing using Auto Cad software for field use, including shop drawings for rebar, forming, scaffolds, and traffic control.
  • Reviewing subcontractors' and vendors' shop drawings for conformance to contract drawings and specifications.
  • Updating RFIs electronically into drawings and specifications of all design packages.
  • Assisting the Project Engineer in coordinating drawings of all disciplines to identify conflicts or clashes, utilizing BIM 360 or Revit as needed.
  • Maintaining electronic as-built drawings and information for submission to the Department of Roads.
  • Assisting the QC Manager in processing RFIs, Submittals, Contractor Daily Reports, QC Reports, Project Photos, QC Meeting Agendas, and Meeting Minutes, Environmental Meeting Agendas, and Minutes.
  • Performing any function or miscellaneous Project Engineering work as needed.

Requirements:

  • Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree or completion of a Construction Management Certificate Program or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of practical construction experience.
  • Basic estimating and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, and Adobe.
  • Able to plan and organize tasks, have effective written and verbal communication skills, and function under pressure or time limitations.
