Nuclear Medicine Technologist II

Position Overview:
As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing essential technological functions that ensure the highest quality of diagnostic imaging for patient care. You may also oversee and verify the work of fellow Nuclear Medicine Technologists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic imaging studies on patients using advanced scanners or scintillation cameras to identify radiation emissions and create organ images on photographic film.
- Under the guidance of a Physician, prepare radiopharmaceutical solutions, calculate appropriate doses, and administer these doses safely.
- Provide therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direct supervision.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated correctly and adhere to strict radiation safety protocols in the handling and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Supervise and review the work of other Nuclear Medicine Technologists when necessary.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of recent, continuous experience in nuclear medicine is required.
- Must possess the following certifications:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Medical Lab Technician Certificate from the American Society for Clinical Pathologists
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
- Nuclear Medical Technologist Certificate (California)
