Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor will provide managerial support to the Director of Pharmacy and other leaders within the Pharmacy Department by overseeing daily operations and coordinating pharmacy workflow. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supervising pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to institutional policies and practices.
  • Overseeing Medication Diversion protocols and policies, including quality audits of controlled substances.
  • Assisting in the planning, development, organization, operation, and evaluation of pharmacy services.
  • Facilitating staff development, new employee orientation, and ongoing training.
  • Ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and providing guidance on regulatory standards.
  • Assisting with budget preparation and cost containment initiatives.
  • Coordinating with the Pharmacy Buyer on operational activities related to drug use and inventory management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate Degree. ASHP accredited residency or advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MS) preferred.
  • 3 - 7 years of experience, with a minimum of 4 years as a hospital Pharmacist.
