Position Overview

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Retail Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in managing all business functions within their designated store, ensuring optimal performance and positive outcomes. This position requires proficiency across all store departments, both perishable and non-perishable, to guarantee that the team effectively implements all initiatives and processes aimed at enhancing sales and operational efficiency. The Retail Operations Supervisor is responsible for fostering a motivated team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service in a dynamic and welcoming atmosphere, while adhering to company standards for safety, labeling, health, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape the store culture positively by exemplifying leadership behaviors that align with Sprouts' core values.
  • Develop the leadership team to provide an outstanding customer experience through motivation and engagement.
  • Lead a team of approximately ten individuals, including Department Managers and Receivers, with respect, integrity, and care.
  • Inspire and cultivate the management team by embracing and consistently demonstrating Sprouts' leadership principles.
  • Recognize store achievements and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by training team members to exceed customer expectations.
  • Exhibit advanced product knowledge while assisting customers and training store personnel.
  • Communicate expectations, policy updates, new initiatives, and product information effectively.
  • Provide constructive feedback to foster effective communication and collaboration within store teams.
  • Address emergencies, crises, and equipment failures with urgency and confidence.
  • Manage P&L by overseeing inventory, labor, and expenses to meet sales targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and food safety regulations, as evaluated through audits.
  • Identify safety and security concerns and collaborate with the appropriate teams to resolve them.
  • Maintain adherence to federal, state, and company regulations to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Drive sales growth and enhance store experience by adhering to established standards.
  • Master inventory management processes, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise.
  • Oversee invoicing from distribution centers and vendors, addressing discrepancies as necessary.
  • Lead backroom organization and ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Assist in building and maintaining displays on the sales floor in accordance with company standards.
  • Verify product freshness, labeling, and pricing accuracy.
  • Oversee price adjustments and stay informed about promotional pricing.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in business management or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of retail experience or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Proven success in leading both perishable and non-perishable department operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on detail and analytical problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules based on business needs.
  • Food Safety certification is required.
  • Able to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment commonly used in retail operations.
