Job Overview

The Patient Services Coordinator aids patients in comprehending their treatment plans, coordinates services with Primary Care Providers, and connects with outpatient diagnostic testing facilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates effectively with the Primary Care Provider to facilitate patient care plans through daily meetings and monthly case discussions, scheduling appointments, and managing ongoing care requirements.
  • Works alongside other clinical personnel to resolve issues impacting patient care progress.
  • Maintains and refreshes the dashboard with alerts and reminders, organizing daily tasks such as visit status notifications, follow-up appointments, medical review authorizations, specialty appointment coordination, and addressing billing discrepancies.
  • Communicates with insurance providers for patient precertification; consults with the Department/Practice Manager regarding patient needs or escalated matters.
  • Provides front-end coverage as necessary; documents telephone interactions for proper routing to Providers.
  • Acts as a liaison among Physicians, patients, and clinical staff to connect patients with both internal and external resources.
  • Proposes enhancements to processes and services to improve patient satisfaction and address concerns.
  • Performs additional assigned duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Some college education; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare or customer service, or a related field.
